Full-Time Buyer (Experienced)
Job Description
• Responsible for independently executing purchasing transactions as authorized
• Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
• Effectively negotiate with suppliers and achieve cost concessions and other (relevant) considerations within the transactions
• Managing supplier lead times, commodity quality, and on-time delivery metrics and proactively recommending solutions to management when challenged to meet assigned objectives
• Track and report purchase orders and follow department guidelines for escalation whenever material supply is projected to be challenged and/or not meet material objectives
• Interface with Production Scheduling/Planning and Manufacturing Operations to ensure commodities are available to support and sustain product build plans
• Interface with cross-functional working groups to ensure ECO and BOM changes are fully understood and integrated into the purchasing plans accordingly
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Business Studies/Administration/Management, or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge in MS Office tools
• At least 1 year(s) of working experience in component purchasing for electro-mechanical devices and/or consumer electronic
• Strong understanding of BOM, ECO, JIT, DFT and related processes associated with purchasing processes
• Progressive experience working with MRP systems and/or supply chain
• Able to work independently
