Business Research Assistant (Penang)
A group of local and foreign investors are investigating the possibility of commencing new business ventures in Malaysia and seek the services of a dynamic, intelligent, market-focussed Business Research Assistant to assist with the planning and execution of these initiatives.
Job Scope:
- Undertake comprehensive industry analysis, stretching across various sectors. Data collection and analysis skills are important.
- Undertake Feasibility and Viability studies to determine the potential and attractiveness of new ventures.
- Develop Business Plans, Investment Recommendation Reports and Funding Proposals, with strong emphasis on the financials.
- Identify and create links with subject matter experts. Good interviewing skills are essential.
- Identify stakeholders who can add value to each business proposition.
Essential Attributes:
- Ability to learn quickly and independent, as the work will cut across various industry sectors.
- Strong research skills, to locate and find existing data (statistics, market reports, financial reports, etc.).
- Critical thinking skills and robust reasoning skills.
- Structured and strategic planning ability, to put together the disparate jigsaw pieces of the business puzzle and to identify areas of competitive strength and advantage.
- Strong financial, costing and accounting skills, to put together Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements.
- Fluent in English – written, spoken and comprehension.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit or a similar discipline. A strong Science degree will also be considered, if the candidate has business exposure.
- Have experience in comparable work, preferably for 3 years or more.
- Very comfortable and fluent in English. Candidates who speak English as their first language will have an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with exceptional qualities and skills will also be considered.
Location: Penang (island).
